𝟑/𝟑 marks the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! This edition is packed full of tournaments! With 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍+ 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐀𝐛𝐮 𝐃𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬, and news for 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥! Major tournaments are coming up! There’s also the 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 in April at Bangkok (not to be confused with their “Blue Chevaliers International Open" which will be held in Phuket in July btw).
Many tournaments in Malaysia as well, especially before the fasting month which begins around 22nd march, then it’s a slower season for chess, but there is still the 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐔𝟏𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 which will be held during the period, so have no worries that there won’t be tournaments at all.
On the 𝟏𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, the 𝐃𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 run by IA Hamid Majid will have its official opening ceremony, alongside a blitz event and a “makan-makan” session! There’s a small prize fund as well, and the 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 will receive 𝐑𝐌𝟓𝟎𝟎! So register early as the space is limited! (Don’t just come for the free food 🧐). It’s also a good note that the 18th of March is also the 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐦’𝐬 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲, so it’s a dual celebration event!
Many 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 have been included in this edition, namely some recent ones including the 𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐑 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, and approval for the 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in the recent Asian Chess Summit in Abu Dhabi.
Under the 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬 & 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, there are multiple upcoming 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐬, namely the one that will be conducted by the 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄’𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.
With 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 being 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, & March 8th marking 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲. It’s a great initiative by the 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄’𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 to have a workshop - “𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧”, alongside the Balkan Chess Federation, and Albanian Chess Federation on 9th of March! Make sure to watch it live on YouTube on the day! There would also be a 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 conducted online for female national arbiters! To participate, you must be nominated by your respective federation. So ladies, make sure you grab this opportunity!
You can find all the tournaments & links below! So scroll through all the way, & make sure you 𝙁𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨 so you don't miss out!!!
