Mid-January Edition by Chess Clicks
List of upcoming tournaments in Malaysia, Thailand, and other major FIDE events. The Edition also contains some Chess News.
EDITIONS BY CHESS CLICKS
Here is what we would still like to call the 𝐌𝐢𝐝-𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, despite it being a little off schedule. For the remaining of January, there aren’t many new local tournaments that weren’t prior included in the 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. The new tournaments for the month are the ones happening in 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, namely from 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲, 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛, & 𝐉𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲.
The other tournaments for the coming month are mainly from the January Edition, the new ones would be International events such as the 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐤𝐣𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐤 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 in Iceland from the 29th March - 4th April 2023 and the 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐬 happening in the Isle of Man from the 23rd October to 5th November 2023.
Then we have some Chess News, the prestigious event that is currently happening would be the 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 happening in Wijk aan Zee. In R5 we see youngster prodigy, 𝐆𝐌 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐯 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐧 to take the lead. In other news, the list of Open Tournaments to receive 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 have been released, and the 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 is also in the list! Happening from the 28th of August to the 3rd of September 2023, hopefully at the usual, Cititel Mid Valley.
