Half of 2025 has flown by, and we’re now entering the exciting second half of the year!

This month, we celebrate International Chess Day on 20th July — with FIDE launching the Year of Social Chess: Every Move Counts.

And yes... the one we’ve all been waiting for is finally here —The 20th Malaysian Chess Festival 2025. Happening from 12th to 21st September at a brand-new venue: KL Gateway Mall.

But that’s not all — here’s a list of exciting tournaments coming up locally and internationally:

  1. Malaysian Masters 2025 – A Round Robin featuring Malaysia’s best! Uzair Shahar was crowned Open Champion, while WFM Tan Li Ting won the Women’s Section!

  2. The 2nd Edition of the National Open Team Chess Championship 2025 – PMX Trophy has also concluded, with Chess Hub Gladiators taking the title!
